India Power Corporation Ltd. (IPCL), formerly known as DPSC Limited, incorporated in 1919, is an ISO-9001-2008 certified company set to become India's leading power generation and utility company. The company has actively forayed into a diversified portfolio, with renewable and conventional modes of power generation, distribution & power trading.The Company currently operates 95.2 MW of wind assets in Rajasthan, Gujarat and Karnataka, and has also developed a 2 MW grid connected solar power plant along with West Bengal Green Energy Development Corporation Ltd. in Asansol.In the conventional sector, the Company is setting up a 450 MW thermal power plant in Haldia, West Bengal and has also conceived thermal power projects in Bihar and Madhya Pradesh.The Company also owns and operates a distribution license in the region spread over 618 sq.km. in the coal-rich Asansol-Raniganj belt.It has been serving the area for nine decades providing critical survival power to the underground collieries of Eastern Coalfields Ltd., hospitals, government utilities, industrial and commercial consumers. The Company owns a coal based power plant having a generation capacity of 12 MW in Dishergarh.
