While building a technology company for the pharma B2B supply chain, we came across the concept of generic medicines. We realized that India is primarily a generic market and there exists a huge gap between the ex-factory cost and selling price of medicines. On top of it, medicine turns out to be the highest out of pocket spend out of the total healthcare expenditure. It seemed like an immediate need, waiting to be addressed. We pivoted in mid 2017 to launch our B2C network, GENERICO. The intent was to build centres where we could educate consumers about generics and significantly enhance the accessibility to medicines. We touched lives of over 3,50,000 consumers in the journey so far saving them INR 25 Cr+ in a short span of 2 years.As we went along, it felt like just a tiny step towards delivering consumer centric solutions. We believed, we needed to go way beyond medicines in order to help people, especially with chronic conditions, to lead a happy & healthy life. So while we expand our network of GENERICO centres to impact more lives, we commit ourselves to strengthen the impact by designing solutions, services & products to make people the master of their own health.
