About AWM
Goldman Sachs Asset & Wealth Management Division ("AWM") offers a broad product
line consisting of all primary asset classes and maintains a global distribution
platform designed to serve a diverse client base of institutions and
individuals. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer of AWM, the Finance team
collaborates closely with senior management on projects impacting the growth and
profitability of the division, as well as with the leadership of AWM’s business
units on specific financial issues and strategic initiatives.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
The role is part of the Client Solutions Group Finance team. The team is
responsible for supporting the Client Solutions Group in financial modeling,
managing strategic initiatives, business and financial reporting, and data
governance that spans both public and private businesses. The team oversees our
progress toward our financial goals; works directly with leadership to execute
on our operating initiatives and projects growth plans for the business.
* Manage key financial processes across the global business (e.g., Net Sales
reporting, annual sales budgeting process, P&L management, sales and
fundraising projections, etc.)
* Produce weekly business summaries, KPI progress updates and complete ad-hoc
requests etc.
* Maintain and update financial systems and assist in data reconciliation and
validation processes ensuring accuracy and timeliness
* Continually look to improve and automate data reporting by integrating data
sources and infrastructure
* Coordinate across regions on global financial reporting initiatives related
to business strategy, client engagement, technology and reporting
* Participate in project management while partnering with cross-functional
stakeholders to identify and execute on opportunities to drive efficiency and
scale
* Develop and maintain business / market analytics and sales metrics for
business managers with a clear focus on accuracy and consistency of data
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE WE ARE LOOKING FOR
* Post-Graduate in Finance / Chartered Accountant
* 0-2 years of relevant experience in Finance, Accounting or Data Analytics
role
* Experience with large data sets, technology and exposure to Asset Management,
Management Consulting, or Investment Banking industries a plus.
* Strong problem-solving skills and abilities, able to craft unique solutions
with limited guidance; proactive in assessing dynamic situations
* Expert skills in Excel, PowerPoint
* Working knowledge of analytics applications (i.e. Alteryx, Tableau, Qlik) and
database tools (e.g. Elastic, MS SQL Server, Legend) a plus
* Self-motivated and driven, someone looking for a steep growth curve
* Fast learner and effective communicator of new / complex information
* Ability to work at varying speeds and under timeframe pressure, while
maintaining extremely high standards
* Team player with strong interpersonal skills: ability to build the trust and
confidence of colleagues, strengthen relationships through ongoing dialogue
and interactions, and collaborate well with others internally
* Project management skills; highly organized; attention to detail and
excellent follow-through; able to define, structure and prioritize work, but
with the flexibility to change priorities when circumstances dictate
* Confidence to challenge and be innovative; focus on identifying areas of
improving efficiency through automation and scalability
