As part of our growing People Operations team, we are looking for a Compliance – Assistant Manager to strengthen our statutory and HR compliance function in partnership with our external compliance vendor.
Eligibility Criteria
Strong knowledge and experience in HR / labour compliances, with expertise in Shops & Establishments Act and Factories Act preferred.
Proven experience in handling multi-state compliances.
Preferably from compliance consultancy firms, compliance-focused companies, retail sectors, or service-based sectors.
Fluency in English and Hindi; knowledge of Kannada or other South Indian languages will be an added advantage.
Experience interacting with labour inspectors will be considered a plus.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Compliance Management
Ensure 100% compliance with all applicable labour laws and HR statutory requirements across multiple states.
Act as the checker for compliance documentation uploaded by the external vendor on the Complinity compliance tool, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Perform internal audits of compliance records and conduct vendor audits to verify that statutory obligations are met in a timely and accurate manner.
Monitor, review, and verify monthly, quarterly, and annual compliance reports from the vendor.
Statutory Payments & Filings
Ensure timely execution of statutory payments, filings, remittances, and returns.
Proactively track and prevent delays in remittances, filings, or returns to avoid penalties.
Vendor Coordination
Act as the primary liaison with the external compliance vendor, ensuring deliverables are met as per agreed timelines.
Review vendor invoices to confirm billing accuracy; raise and resolve discrepancies as required.
Regulatory Updates & Advisory
Stay updated on new labour laws, notifications, and amendments; provide actionable advice to internal stakeholders.
Support IPO-related HR compliance activities and any other corporate compliance requirements.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with Finance, Legal, and Compliance teams to ensure smooth execution of compliance activities.
Coordinate with internal teams wherever vendor input or support is required for compliance execution.
Other Responsibilities
Act as a maker for compliance uploads when necessary, in addition to the checker role.
Ensure continuous improvement in compliance tracking processes and documentation standards.
Key Skills
