AVP – Strategic Sourcing & Device Procurement

About the Role
We are looking for a strategic procurement leader to drive sourcing, commercial strategy, and vendor ecosystem management for Paytm’s rapidly growing device business across Soundbox and POS/EDC ecosystems.

This role sits at the intersection of supply strategy, commercial leadership, manufacturing partnerships, and hardware quality governance. The mandate is to build a resilient, scalable, and cost-efficient procurement ecosystem spanning domestic manufacturing partners, component suppliers, and global OEMs.

Ideal for candidates from consulting, consumer tech, electronics, telecom, ecommerce, or premier B-schools with strong experience in strategic sourcing, supply ecosystems, and large-scale vendor management.

Key Responsibilities
Drive procurement and sourcing strategy across Soundbox and POS/EDC device ecosystems.
Lead strategic partnerships with domestic manufacturers, component vendors, and global OEMs.
Drive commercial negotiations, cost transformation, supply continuity, and vendor governance initiatives.
Build scalable sourcing frameworks, alternate vendor strategies, and supply-risk mitigation models.
Partner with product, engineering, operations, and finance teams to improve device quality, reliability, and lifecycle economics.
Lead procurement planning aligned with business growth forecasts and deployment scale-up plans.
Leverage analytics and operational rigor to improve procurement efficiency, inventory optimization, and capex utilization.

Ideal Candidate
8 - 12 years of experience across procurement, strategic sourcing, supply chain, consulting, electronics, telecom, consumer tech, or manufacturing ecosystems.
Strong commercial acumen, negotiation capability, and stakeholder management skills.
Experience managing complex domestic and international vendor ecosystems preferred.
Exposure to electronics manufacturing, hardware sourcing, or OEM management is a strong advantage.
MBA from a premier B-school preferred.
