Backend Engineer (Golang / GenAI)

Job Description

Opcito is seeking a highly skilled Backend Engineer with strong experience in Golang and modern AI-driven application development. The ideal candidate should have hands-on expertise in building scalable APIs, integrating LLM/GenAI capabilities, and working on distributed backend systems. Experience with Node.js is a plus.

Required Skills & Experience

5+ years of software engineering experience
Strong proficiency in Golang
Strong proficiency in AI coding tools
Experience in API development and backend architecture
Hands-on exposure to LLM/GenAI technologies and integrations
Knowledge of MCP concepts/frameworks
Understanding of microservices and distributed systems
Experience with databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB
Familiarity with cloud platforms and containerization tools

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Golang
Build and integrate RESTful APIs and microservices
Work on LLM/GenAI integrations for AI-powered applications and workflows
Implement and optimize MCP-based architectures/workflows
Collaborate with product, AI, and engineering teams to deliver high-quality solutions
Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code
Debug, troubleshoot, and optimize backend performance
Participate in system design, code reviews, and deployment activities
