JOB DESCRIPTION Backend Engineer Stealth AI Startup | Remote (India) | Full-Time About [Stealth AI Startup] A bootstrapped, stealth-mode startup building a no-code, multi-agent AI platform for business users. Think of it as "Claude Code for business people." The platform enables users to create AI agents, connect them across teams, and solve complex problems without writing a single line of code. It supports agent-to-agent communication, is model-agnostic, and includes role-based access control (RBAC). Despite being in stealth, the platform already serves notable clients: a European company with ~400 monthly active users running 4,000+ agents across 500 projects, and a top-tier US business school, which has built AI clones of their professors to scale expert advice to thousands of entrepreneurs. The founder is a former Google & Microsoft engineering leader with deep expertise in large-scale distributed systems. The Role You will own the platform''''s backend and work directly alongside the founder. This is a high-ownership role where you’ll take on core backend responsibilities so the founder can shift focus to architecture, product vision, and scaling. The current team is lean (2 engineers, 1 QA, 1 UX), and you’ll be joining at a stage where your work will have an outsized impact on the product and the company’s trajectory. What You’ll Own Own and drive the backend of a production multi-agent AI platform serving hundreds of active users Build and maintain large-scale distributed systems that handle agent-to-agent communication, shared grounding, and file processing across thousands of projects Design and implement APIs, data pipelines, and infrastructure to support platform scaling Work with modern AI tooling and vector databases (e.g., Qdrant) to power the agent framework Iterate fast — build, ship, learn, and be willing to throw things away and rebuild when needed Collaborate directly with the founder on technical decisions, architecture, and product direction Contribute to establishing engineering standards and culture as the team grows Tech Stack Language: Python (language-agnostic mindset preferred) Infrastructure: Large-scale distributed systems, cloud infrastructure AI Tooling: Multi-agent frameworks, LLMs, vector databases (Qdrant) Dev Tools: AI-assisted development (Cloud Code, Cursor, or similar) Must-Haves 3–5 years of professional backend engineering experience Proven experience building and maintaining large-scale distributed systems Strong computer science fundamentals — data structures, algorithms, system design Comfortable with Python (or demonstrably language-agnostic with strong fundamentals) Experience with modern AI tooling — familiar with tools like Cloud Code, Cursor, or similar AI-assisted development environments Experience with vector databases (Qdrant or similar) and working with LLM-based systems Passion and drive — have built something they’re proud of, whether it made money or not.
