/ Associate Director - Catalysts Entity : Evonik Catalysts India Pvt. Ltd.
Business Line : Catalysts Work Location : Dombivli Reporting to : Head – Sales,
India Purpose of the Position : Ensure the attainment of revenue and
contribution margin targets for the Catalysts product line. Lead key account
management efforts specifically for the pharmaceutical segment. Develop and
implement a bottom-up regional sales strategy for pharmaceutical customers and
key accounts, ensuring alignment with the short-, mid-, and long-term objectives
of the business line and product group strategies. Collaborate with the regional
director of sales to establish processes that support and drive growth. Manage
existing accounts, acquire new customers, and manage project business activities
while maintaining high customer satisfaction and driving optimal commercial
development. Key Responsibilities : Sales Management: Oversee all sales
activities for Lifescience and Performance Catalysts products within the India
region, ensuring alignment with legal entities and organizational goals. Achieve
annual sales and profitability targets (revenue/CM1). Customer Relationship
Development: Maintain and expand customer relationships at multiple levels and
across functions. Develop customer strategies and action plans, including buying
center analysis, meeting preparation, and negotiation planning. Offer and
Contract Management: Prepare, negotiate, and manage offers and contracts.
Implement pricing strategies for product groups to ensure profitability and
competitiveness. Sales Planning and Forecasting: Plan and forecast sales using a
bottom-up approach while aligning with top-down expectations. Identify and
document business opportunities to support the development of regional and
country sales budgets. Customer Complaint Management: Initiate and oversee
customer complaint resolution processes. Follow up on complaints and manage
communication with customers to ensure satisfaction. Market Intelligence and
Reporting: Gather and document information on individual customers, competitor
activities, new technologies, and market developments. Identify and report
trends and shifts in relevant markets to support strategic decision-making.
Distributor and Sales Agent Management: Manage external distributors and sales
agents in accordance with Evonik guidelines and requirements. Coordinate closely
with MSE channel management and the regional head of sales to ensure efficient
channel operations. Business Development & Sales Growth: Evaluate opportunities
to grow the Catalysts business in the Indian subcontinent using the existing
product portfolio of the Catalysts Business Line. Ensure desired profitability
while expanding market presence. Drive growth in the Catalysts business across
the Indian subcontinent by utilizing regional sales resources under the
guidelines of internal distribution/internal sales processes. Establish strong
rapport with overseas colleagues and provide prompt solutions for the product
line. Perform additional tasks as assigned to meet evolving business needs.
Education, Certification, and Relevant Experience Required Bachelor's degree in
science is mandatory, with a minimum of 10 years of sales experience in the
relevant industry. A degree in Chemical Engineering (BE Chemical) is preferred.
Candidates with a background in selling raw materials to the Pharmaceutical API
segment are highly desirable. Additional Skills and Abilities Required for this
Position Strong ability to effectively coordinate with internal and external
stakeholders to identify new business opportunities, analyze industry trends,
and develop strategies to achieve business targets. A critical skillset in
identifying business opportunities and devising solutions to meet evolving
