Capital and Valuation Specialist

Introduction:

The Pricing & Valuation Analyst is responsible for ensuring accurate,
independent valuation of the hedge fund’s portfolio across listed and OTC
financial instruments. This role supports risk management, NAV calculation,
financial reporting, and regulatory compliance by validating market prices and
applying appropriate valuation methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:

Daily P&L and Valuation

* Prepare and validate daily profit & loss (P&L) reports for trading desks and
portfolios 
* Perform independent price verification (IPV) for securities and derivatives 
* Investigate and explain P&L movements, attribution, and valuation
differences 
* Reconcile front-office and back-office positions and balances 

Trade & Position Control

* Monitor trade capture accuracy and booking integrity 
* Review new trades, amendments, cancellations, and lifecycle events 
* Ensure completeness and accuracy of positions across systems 

Risk & Financial Control

* Support market risk and exposure analysis 
* Validate pricing models and valuation methodologies 
* Identify valuation uncertainties and escalation items 

Reporting & Governance

* Produce daily, weekly, and monthly management reports 
* Support month-end close and NAV validation processes 
* Ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements 
* Participate in audit requests and documentation reviews 

Process Improvement

* Automate reporting and reconciliation processes 
* Enhance controls and operational efficiency 
* Collaborate with technology teams on system improvements 

Required Qualifications

* Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics,
Engineering, or related field 
* 1–6 years of experience in Product Control, Fund Accounting, Valuation
Control, or Hedge Fund Finance 
* Strong understanding of financial products: 
* Equities 
* Fixed Income 
* FX 
* Derivatives 
* OTC products 
* Structured products (preferred) 

Required Skills

* Strong knowledge of P&L attribution and valuation concepts 
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills 
* Advanced Excel skills 
* Experience with Bloomberg, Reuters, or market data platforms 
* Familiarity with Python, SQL, VBA, or automation tools preferred 
* Understanding of hedge fund strategies and trading workflows 
* Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities 

Preferred Qualifications

* CA / CFA / FRM / CPA certification preferred 
* Experience working with multi-asset hedge funds 
* Exposure to prime broker reconciliations and NAV oversight 
* Experience with risk systems and portfolio management platforms
