Data Modeler (India)

As a Data Modeler & Analyst, you will drive data modelling, analysis, and technical documentation within a banking and financial services environment. You will contribute to the design, validation, and deployment of data models, supporting enterprise data warehouse and data lake initiatives while enabling risk, regulatory, and business reporting.

What You’ll Do and How You’ll Succeed

Deliver hands-on data and systems analysis by profiling data, defining specifications, and mapping banking systems across domains such as Commercial Lending, Forex, Funds, Payments, Credit Risk, Financial and Non-Financial Risk, Party and Reference Data, AML, KYC, Sanctions, and Trade Surveillance
Translate business requirements into structured data product specifications through close collaboration with the Lead Data Modeler & Analyst
Design and document conceptual, logical, and physical data models while supporting database code development, testing, implementation, monitoring, and maintenance across data lake and data warehouse platforms
Own end-to-end data deliverables including data sourcing, data flows, data lineage, metadata model design, data quality validation, testing, implementation, and BAU support
Establish and apply best practices for naming conventions and coding standards to ensure consistency across data models and analysis outputs
Evaluate existing data and systems to identify opportunities for reuse of data models and analytical components in new environments
Validate data models and physical databases by identifying discrepancies and ensuring accuracy and completeness
Analyse data integration challenges and propose effective, scalable solutions
Partner with engineering teams to ensure high-quality delivery aligned with product vision and user requirements
Produce clear and structured documentation covering data, systems, and processes

We’d Love to Hear From You If…

Experience
You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related engineering discipline
You have 8+ years of experience in data warehousing, data lakes, and data marts with strong design and implementation exposure
You have at least 5 years of recent experience in the Banking and Financial Services sector
You have hands-on experience delivering data modelling and analytics solutions in enterprise environments

Technical Expertise
You have expert-level experience in data modelling using ER-Studio and ERwin, with exposure to data lineage and modelling tools
You are proficient in SQL and database views, with experience across Snowflake, Starburst or similar data virtualisation tools, SingleStore, Oracle, DB2, SQL Server, Postgres, and Hive
You have strong expertise in data analysis, including writing complex SQL queries aligned to logical and physical data models
You are familiar with regulatory frameworks such as BCBS 239 and GDPR
You have experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, and MS Office
You have exposure to data integration and ETL tools such as Informatica and AWS Glue
You are familiar with data lineage tools and master and reference data platforms such as Collibra
You have exposure to cloud technologies, including AWS data pipelines
You are familiar with data visualisation tools such as Tableau and Power BI
You have exposure to AI, machine learning, and data analytics concepts
You understand data and application architecture principles and best practices
