Data Operation Associate Role summary The Data Operation Associate helps keep critical data accurate, current, and usable across operational workflows. This role supports data refresh, analysis, and validation activities while using SQL and other tools to maintain dependable data outputs for internal teams and business processes. Based in Chennai, India, this is an in-person role and requires 5 + years of experience. This person will report to the Senior Data Operations Manager. Team summary The Data Operations team is responsible for executing data quality workflows that help ensure key hygiene metrics, including data completeness, standardization, validity, and uniqueness, are consistently achieved and maintained. The team works across a variety of operational inputs and data sources, including third-party data providers, manual web research, and automated solutions such as AI- and RPA-enabled processes. In practice, the team monitors data quality issues, investigates exceptions, performs refresh and validation activities, and helps ensure data is accurate and timely for downstream users and systems. The team partners with cross-functional stakeholders to identify patterns, resolve data issues, improve workflow consistency, and support scalable operational outcomes. Essential Job Responsibilities Perform scheduled and ad hoc data refresh activities to keep operational datasets current and reliable. Analyze data outputs to identify gaps, inconsistencies, trends, and exceptions that require correction or follow-up.Validate data against source systems, business rules, and quality standards to confirm accuracy and completeness. Write and execute SQL queries to extract, review, reconcile, and verify data.Document issues, findings, and workflow outcomes clearly to support tracking, review, and resolution. Collaborate with internal partners to research and resolve data quality concerns and process discrepancies. Monitor recurring data issues and support improvements that reduce rework and strengthen data hygiene. Apply AI-enabled tools in approved workflows to improve productivity, support data review, and strengthen learning as new tools become available, while continuing to use human judgment for final validation. Support process consistency by following established procedures and contributing to routine operational tasks. Escalate complex issues or unresolved data defects to the appropriate team members in a timely manner. Additional Job Responsibilities Assist with reporting activities and operational updates as needed. Participate in process improvement discussions and recommend practical workflow enhancements. Help test and validate changes to data processes or supporting logic. Contribute to documentation updates for recurring workflows and controls. Support knowledge sharing across the team when new data processes are introduced. Assist with special projects related to data accuracy, integrity, or operational readiness. Help identify opportunities to simplify manual steps through automation or standardization. Expected Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in a related field. 5 + years of experience in data operations, data quality, data analysis, or a related operational environment. Demonstrated experience with data refresh, data analysis, and data validation activities. Hands-on experience writing and troubleshooting SQL queries. Experience working with structured data, source-to-target checks, or reconciliation processes.Strong understanding of data quality concepts such as completeness, validity, uniqueness, and standardization. Experience documenting findings, resolving data issues, and supporting operational workflows.Ability to work effectively in an in-person office environment in Chennai, India.
