Area of Responsibility
The Lead Engineer – Energy Storage Systems is responsible for leading the end‑to‑end engineering and development of automotive energy storage commodities (battery packs, battery systems, related subsystems) within the powertrain domain.
The role covers the complete product lifecycle from Kick‑Off (KO) to Start of Production (SOP), ensuring technical excellence, regulatory compliance, cost, quality, and timing adherence.
Should have an ability to conduct benchmarking studies and propose innovative solutions.
Good understanding of PCDS and major gateways

Knowledge / Experience – 6 to 10 Years
Essential:
Lead engineering ownership of Energy Storage systems within the automotive powertrain domain from concept to SOP
Define system and component‑level requirements for batteries and energy storage subsystems
Develop and maintain system architecture, interfaces, and integration with powertrain and vehicle systems
Drive design maturity, engineering releases, and change management across product phases
Lead supplier technical alignment, reviews, and development activities
Ensure compliance with functional safety, thermal, electrical, EMC, and regulatory standards
Own and execute DVP&R, validation, and verification plans at component, system, and vehicle levels
Perform and review DFMEA, risk analysis, and root‑cause investigations
Coordinate cross‑functional teams (thermal, electrical, safety, vehicle integration, manufacturing)
Support industrialization, production readiness, and launch activities
Tools - DOORS, Teamcenter, JIRA, MS office tools, CatiaV5/V6

Qualification:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical / Mechanical / Automotive Engineering or related discipline.
