We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead high-performing teams building consumer-facing products at scale. This role sits at the intersection of technology, product, and customer experience, and is critical in shaping seamless, intuitive, and reliable journeys for our end users. You will combine strong technical depth with people leadership and product thinking to deliver impactful consumer experiences across Catalog, Search & Discovery, Personalization and General Merchandise platforms.

What You’ll Do
Lead, mentor, and grow a team of engineers building consumer products and platforms, fostering a culture of ownership, craftsmanship, and continuous improvement
Drive end-to-end delivery of user-facing features and platforms—from ideation and design to development, release, and iteration
Own and evolve core consumer experiences across Catalog, Search & Discovery, Personalization, Recommendations, and General Merchandise journeys
Partner closely with Product, Design, Growth, Merchandising, and Business teams to build intuitive, engaging, and high-conversion customer experiences
Drive engineering initiatives that improve product discoverability, search relevance, recommendation quality, assortment visibility, and customer engagement
Own the technical direction for frontend and/or full-stack systems powering consumer journeys including browsing, merchandising, recommendations, cart, checkout, and post-order experiences
Ensure high standards of code quality, performance, scalability, reliability, and operational excellence across consumer systems
Optimize for key business and consumer metrics such as conversion, retention, search success rate, engagement, latency, and app/web performance
Build and improve engineering processes including sprint planning, experimentation (A/B testing), CI/CD, code reviews, testing, and release management
Drive a strong culture of experimentation, observability, and data-driven decision-making within the team
Collaborate closely with Data Science, Analytics, and ML teams to enable personalization and recommendation capabilities at scale
Hire, onboard, and develop top engineering talent to build a strong consumer engineering organization
Work with platform and backend teams to ensure scalable APIs, resilient services, and seamless integrations across systems

What We’re Looking For
10–12 years of experience in software engineering, with 2–4 years in an engineering management role
Strong experience in building and scaling consumer-facing applications and platforms (mobile, web, or full-stack systems)
Experience working on domains such as Catalog, Search, Discovery, Recommendations, Personalization, Merchandising, or Consumer Growth platforms
Deep understanding of frontend performance, user experience, discoverability, and responsive design principles
Hands-on experience with modern frontend frameworks (React, React Native) and/or backend technologies such as Java, Python, Spring Boot, Kafka, MySQL, MongoDB, and cloud-native architectures
Experience with AWS and cloud-native microservices architecture
Proven track record of delivering high-quality consumer products in fast-paced, data-driven environments
Strong understanding of distributed systems, APIs, microservices, scalability, and performance optimization
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to balance user experience, performance, scalability, and business goals
Experience working in Agile environments with rapid iteration and experimentation cycles
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration skills

Good to Have
Experience in e-commerce, quick commerce, food-tech, retail-tech, or other high-frequency consumer internet platforms
Familiarity with search relevance systems, recommendation engines, personalization frameworks, or merchandising platforms
Experience with experimentation frameworks, customer segmentation, and engagement platforms
Exposure to high-traffic, low-latency systems handling real-time consumer interactions
Prior experience scaling engineering teams in high-growth environments

Educational Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field from a reputed institution
Master’s degree (MBA/MS/M.Tech) is a plus, but not mandatory
