Expert Python Engineer

Ciklum is looking for an Expert Python Engineer to join our team full-time in
India.

We are a custom product engineering company that supports both multinational
organizations and scaling startups to solve their most complex business

About the role:

As an Expert Python Engineer, become a part of a cross-functional development
team engineering experiences of tomorrow. 

Responsibilities:

* Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems using Python and
Django
* Architect and implement core components for:
* Marketplace systems (catalog, transactions, integrations)
* Workflow engine (process automation, orchestration, state management)
* Collaborate closely with frontend teams to integrate APIs with UI prototypes
* Lead backend development efforts, ensuring code quality, performance, and
scalability
* Define and enforce best practices in system design, coding standards, and
security
* Optimize applications for maximum speed, efficiency, and reliability
* Work with cross-functional teams including product, DevOps, and QA
* Mentor junior developers and conduct code reviews
* Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues

Requirements:

* 10+ years of professional experience in backend development
* Strong expertise in Python and Django framework
* Deep understanding of RESTful API design and microservices architecture
* Experience with database design (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar)
* Solid knowledge of asynchronous programming, caching, and performance
optimization
* Familiarity with workflow engines / orchestration systems is a strong plus
* Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
* Proficiency in version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines
* Strong problem-solving skills and system design capabilities

Desirable: 

* Experience in building marketplace platforms or e-commerce systems
* Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
* Exposure to event-driven architectures (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.)
* Understanding of security best practices and data protection
