About the Team and the Role:

The motor engineering team works with other cross functional teams and suppliers to deliver the motor module to meet the vehicle requirements including performance, quality and durability. This role is part of the motor engineering team and will be working on existing and upcoming vehicle products

Responsibilities:

Drive engineering rigor through best industry practices. Participate in design reviews, FMEAs.
Drive new technology initiatives in Motor and ideate on new architectures to meet vehicle requirements
Understand and Evaluate various motor technologies and design solutions for electric 2W
Take ownership of project/task and drive results
Analyze, Investigate and prioritize tasks/bugs/RCAs for ensuring timely project execution
Represent motor engineering in cross functional discussions and reviews
Work with cross functional teams to validate motors for vehicle requirements

Experience and Qualifications:

Qualifications: Bachelor and master’s degree with focus on power electronics and motor drives.
Experience: 7 to 10 years of experience in the electric motor and drives domain, preferably in automotive

Must Have Competencies:

Strong fundamentals of physics/Electrical Engineering
Expertise in electromagnetic design of various types of electric motors such as Induction/PMSM/SynRM/SRM
Expertise with FEA tools such as Maxwell/Flux/Motor-CAD/JMAG etc for electromagnetic finite element analysis
Hands on experience new product development and validation of electric motors
Understanding of motor control strategies and basics of power electronics

Good to Have Competencies:

Thermal analysis and modeling
Mechanical design of electric motors
Rotational Dynamics and Bearing Selection
