Job Description
Plans, organizes, and controls the firm’s projects for servers, storage devices, applications platforms, and communications components that operate in a physical, virtual, and/or cloud environment. Projects include installations, modifications, and upgrades. Creates and manages corresponding budgets and schedules. Evaluates related products and makes recommendations to senior management on new technologies and innovation. Directs and trains other staff members. Works from high level goals.
Duties and Responsibilities
Participates in the planning and manages the implementation of projects addressing servers, storage devices, applications platforms, and communications components. Includes new product installations and
upgrades, project schedules, resource allocation, tracking and reporting on project milestones. Ensures that coordination with internal technology resources is performed.
Maintains a comprehensive infrastructure asset inventory and ensures compliance with asset lifecycle requirements. Tracks operational purchasing and spending and maintains an insight into operational budget status.
Directs the logistics and support of infrastructure assets and technology in branch offices, data centers, and other physical facilities. Guides the planning, scheduling, and implementation of technology, with respect to office moves and other facilities projects.
Develops, monitors and ensures the timely execution of service level agreements (SLA) for integrated enterprise systems. Assists in routing and tracking infrastructure related issues escalated by the support staff and various teams. Manage vendor and consultant relationships as required, verifying that issues are resolved and that deadlines are met.
Identifies and directs the automation of workloads to improve performance, reduce costs, and reduce maintenance for servers, storage devices, and communications systems components. Identifies opportunities for operational process and system enhancements and makes recommendations accordingly.
Manages the support of production systems and manages support incidents by researching, coordinating resources, communicating with IT and business staff to resolve root causes and restore systems performance.
Consults with other technology management, stakeholders, clients, and end users to identify potential enhancements and issues.
Performs other duties as required.
Skills And Abilities
Advanced knowledge of routing, switching, Virtual Private Networks (VPN), firewalls, load
Balancing, Subnetting And Other Networking Skills.
Advanced knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL) and/or Oracle databases.
Advanced knowledge of servers, storage devices, applications platforms, and communications.
Advanced ability to create complex, custom scripts and/or configure orchestration products to complete complex tasks.
Excellent skills and background in Microsoft server products and in supporting an Active Directory environment.
Strong knowledge or experience supporting Linux required.
Strong interpersonal and customer relations skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks both individually and as a team member.
Excellent IT project management skills.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree. 10 years of related experience. Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands. Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
