Manager – Domestic Operations - Rail & Inland Terminals

Key Responsibilities:
• Responsible for overseeing multiple locations in the South region,
including three terminals across Bangalore and Chennai, collectively handling an
average movement of 15-20 rakes per month.
• The role entails managing complete end-to-end operations, ensuring timely
execution, high operational efficiency, and seamless coordination across all
functions.
• Supervising daily terminal activities, rail operations, vehicle deployment,
customer coordination, POD management, and overall inventory control.
• Handling all aspects of railway operations, including liaison with local
and divisional railway authorities - critical for maintaining compliance,
preventing delays, and ensuring smooth coordination with the Railways.
• Managing third-party staff and vendors deployed at these terminals,
ensuring operational efficiency, attendance monitoring, and timely verification
of bills.
• Maintaining complete rake related reports in terms of operational and
commercial activities and timely submission to Management, Customer Service, and
Sales teams.
• Maintaining strong relationships with Railway authorities at station and
divisional levels to ensure timely placement and release of trains, secure
necessary permissions, and avoid detentions or additional costs.
• Maintain complete records of container inventory, gate-in/gate-out
movements, and document tracking such as LR copies, weighment slips, e-way
bills, and invoices for first and last mile locations.
• Ensuring timely attachment of detached units at the assigned locations with
their mother rake within specified SLAs
Education
Postgraduate / MBA or equivalent from a reputed University
Experience
Minimum 5 years proven experience in Rail and PFT
Technical Skills
Good knowledge on the Rail operations, ground operations, Railways norms and
trade practices. Strong interpersonal skills and communication with Indian
Railways.
