Role Purpose
This role is responsible for end-to-end governance, accuracy, and timeliness of Customer, Vendor, and Material Master data for Indian and Overseas Suzlon entities. The role ensures data integrity, compliance, SLA adherence, and continuous improvement, acting as the single point of accountability (SPOC) between Business, Finance, Procurement, and IT systems (SAP S/4HANA).

Key Responsibilities
A. Operational Ownership
Lead and manage Customer, Vendor, and Material Master setup, modification, extension, and blocking activities in SAP S/4HANA.
Ensure 100% adherence to approved MDM SOPs, documentation checklists, and approval frameworks.
Oversee Indian as well as overseas entity master data, including export customers, foreign vendors, group companies, and intercompany masters.
Monitor daily queues, ageing, and backlog to meet defined Turnaround Time (TAT) and SLAs.

B. Governance & Controls
Act as process owner at execution level for MDM governance and internal controls.
Ensure compliance with GST, PAN, TAN, withholding tax, bank validation, and statutory requirements for masters.
Support internal and statutory audits, providing master data MIS, audit trails, and justifications.
Periodically review and cleanse master data to eliminate duplicates, inactive masters, and data inconsistencies.

C. Stakeholder Management
Serve as the primary SPOC for Business Units, Finance Controllers, Procurement, Taxation, and IT teams.
Resolve escalations related to incorrect or delayed master data impacting order processing, billing, payments, or reporting.
Provide clarity to stakeholders on data requirements, approvals, and expected timelines.

D. Team Leadership & Capability Building
Lead, guide, and mentor MDM Executives and Analysts within SSC.
Allocate work, review quality, and conduct periodic refresher training on master data requirements and process changes.
Drive a culture of right-first-time (RFT) and accountability within the team.

E. Process Improvement & Digitisation
Identify automation and standardisation opportunities in master data workflows.
Partner with SSC Automation / CI teams to reduce manual intervention and cycle times.
Support S/4HANA enhancements, master data migrations, and entity onboarding activities.
Track KPIs such as TAT, rejection rate, rework %, and audit observations.

Internal: Business Units, Finance, Procurement, Tax, IT (SAP), SSC Operations
External: Auditors, Statutory Bodies

4. Qualifications & Experience
Education: Graduation in Commerce / Management / Engineering; MBA preferred
Experience:
6–10 years of experience in Master Data Management / Shared Services / ERP operations
Minimum 2 years in a team handling or lead role
Hands-on experience in SAP ECC / SAP S/4HANA MDM

5. Technical & Functional Skills
Strong understanding of Customer, Vendor, and Material Master structures
Knowledge of GST, withholding tax, payment terms, incoterms, and intercompany setups
Proficiency in SAP, Excel, and MIS reporting
Exposure to audit, compliance, and process documentation
