About the role Job Summary The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for researching, planning, designing, and developing mechanical products and systems. This includes instruments, controls, engines, and machines used in energy production, transmission, and measurement. This job profile is intended for early-career professionals who apply broad theoretical knowledge and require the ability to investigate and analyze problems. Solutions are typically discussed/verified with a more senior member. Purpose of the job Supports CAE activities for ORE, PD and CT projects globally. Compilation of mechanical analysis documentation provided to clients, proving the mechanical, rotordynamic and structural integrity of products, ensuring conformity to established industry, company standards and customer specifications Main tasks and responsibilities Rotordynamic analysis (Lateral and Torsional) of centrifugal pumps. Pump design calculations as per international standards. Structural and Dynamic analysis of Baseplate and Vertical Pump using ANSYS Workbench Preparation & submission of calculation reports and coordinating for customer approvals. Provide technical assistance to project team to solve possible discrepancies & review and issue and follow-up the comments on reports, specifications, etc. Making design recommendations to provide acceptable rotordynamic level, behavior of pump and help to resolve difficult or unusual product design engineering problems. Capable of performing routine mechanical engineering calculations and analysis. Qualifications/Experience and Knowledge Required: Bachelor’s or Master degree in Mechanical Engineering Relevant experience in Rotating machine industry practices & standards. Experience in finite element analysis techniques and calculations Experience of rotor dynamics, FEA using Ansys Solid understanding of structural mechanics fundamentals and basic vibration Knowledge of in 2D/3D CAD & PLM software Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, word and power point Knowledge of Industry Code & Standards such ASME, EN, API, etc Competencies and behaviour required (What strengths needed?)
