Overall Purpose of The Job

Manage the Planned Maintenance System on board the vessels managed by all V. Ships office across the globe, maintaining tight day to day control of the PMS and Marine Systems Functions.

Liaise with the various Technical Managers of the group offices for improving the quality of the database and also assist them on the class approval / class notation for the vessels. Monitoring the effectiveness of the team by optimizing appropriate resource levels and utilization.

Key Responsibilities And Tasks

To guide and assist the database building team technically when required

To develop standard approaches / templates to database jobs and create standards vessel and equipment type templates for re-use and standardisation.

To develop / maintain guidelines for builders and update and distribute accordingly

Additionally any updates that will receive from the Technical division with regards to specific machinery will need to be adhered to during the initial database build in specific to the vessel machinery.

Follow up on all relevant service letters with the TACT team and get the same incorporated to the database,

Keep the builders on up to date on the circulars and the schedule changes as per the circular letters so that the builders change their frequency as per that

To check all machinery and service components across engineering, deck and hotel departments Serial Numbers to be input for all major and critical components Class ID's to be input for all Survey items.

To ensure all major and critical spare parts have been created in the system related to main moving components e.g. Main Propulsion, Generators Main Pumps, Compressors and Boilers.

To check runtime and calendar based jobs are as recommended by Makers.

To ensure the relevant report forms associated with jobs and tasks are attached to the jobs.

Ensure all Jobs pertaining to VMS procedures are incorporated in the system.

Responsible for managing the delivery of systems through PMS work list and order book.

Managing the prioritization of activities in conjunction with other members of the ISD and client requirements.

Allocation of resources for the PMS Projects right from compilation of data for the build till implementation.

Developing Quality standards, Procedures and automated software process to support the PMS build and delivery process.

Provide technical support for all PMS related issues. Managing a team of database builders and assigning them projects in order of priority.
