Job Description We are seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to take on the role of India Application Engineering Manager (Pre-Sales). This role is critical to driving India’s strategic growth, leading a high-performing team of Application Engineers, and enabling customer success through strong technical engagement and workflow-based solution selling. The successful candidate will lead India’s Pre-Sales Application Engineering organization while playing a key role in integrating efforts across different AE functions and maximizing the impact of Agilent’s laboratory infrastructure. Key Responsibilities Team Leadership & Development Lead and manage a team of 15 ~ 20 pre-application engineers in India Drive high performance through coaching, capability development, and clear accountability Foster a strong culture of collaboration, ownership, and customer-centricity Business & Sales Enablement Drive effective pre-sales business development, providing technical expertise from opportunity qualification to deal closure Partner closely with Sales, Marketing, and other technical teams to increase win rates and market share Support achievement of sales targets through strong technical positioning and customer engagement “One AE” Operational Leadership (India) Lead and integrate Pre-AEs, Post-AEs, CASA/DGG AEs, and CSD AEs under a unified “One AE” operating model Ensure seamless collaboration across teams to deliver end-to-end workflow solutions Act as the central coordination point for technical resources across India Lab & CoE Management Oversee operations and utilization of three key India labs (Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru) Ensure labs deliver strong customer impact, technical excellence, and business outcomes Drive effective planning and resource allocation to maximize ROI and customer engagement Strategic Partnership & Innovation Develop strong internal and external partnerships to understand customer needs and recommend differentiated solutions Provide insights to influence future product development and portfolio strategy Stay current on industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging customer requirements Qualifications - Proven experience in application Engineering, field Application Scientist, or related technical leadership roles - Strong people leadership experience with ability to manage and develop high-performing teams - Deep understanding of pre-sales processes and customer engagement models based on end to end workflow solutions - Demonstrated ability to drive business growth and support sales success - Strong collaboration skills across functions and geographies - Knowledge of analytical instrumentation and workflow solutions is highly preferred - Advanced degree in Chemistry, Life Sciences, or related field; MBA is a plus Additional Details This job has a full time weekly schedule. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
