About the Role
WCT is seeking highly skilled Python Backend Engineers to support Client’s Supply Chain Systems Engineering initiatives focused on Data Center infrastructure and global operational platforms.
This role involves designing scalable backend systems, telemetry services, API ecosystems, enterprise integrations, and data-processing platforms supporting mission-critical supply chain and infrastructure operations. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Python backend development, distributed systems, API engineering, and data processing architecture, along with exposure to enterprise operational systems such as manufacturing, logistics, infrastructure management, or analytics ecosystems.
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems and distributed services using Python
Build RESTful APIs, backend microservices, and integration frameworks for enterprise platforms
Develop telemetry systems, event-driven architectures, and operational data-processing pipelines
Build integrations with supply-chain systems, manufacturing platforms, ERP systems, logistics systems, and infrastructure tooling
Support intelligent operational workflows leveraging analytics, automation, and AI/ML-driven systems
Work on large-scale ingestion, transformation, and processing of operational and infrastructure data
Improve scalability, reliability, observability, and performance of backend platforms
Participate in system architecture reviews, technical design discussions, and engineering best practices
Troubleshoot complex production and integration issues across distributed systems
Collaborate with cross-functional teams across Supply Chain Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, Data Engineering, SRE, and Platform teams
Build reusable backend frameworks, engineering libraries, and operational tooling
Support CI/CD automation and cloud-native engineering practices
Contribute to operational excellence, system resilience, and service reliability initiatives
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related technical field
4–6 years of experience in backend software engineering or platform engineering
Strong hands-on programming expertise in Python
Experience building scalable backend applications and distributed systems
Strong experience with REST APIs, API integrations, and microservices architecture
Experience working with data-processing systems, telemetry pipelines, or event-streaming architectures
Strong understanding of databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, BigQuery, or equivalent systems
Experience with cloud platforms such as GCP, AWS, or Azure
Understanding of software engineering fundamentals, system design, scalability, and reliability engineering
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git, containerization, and DevOps practices
Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving capabilities
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Logistics, ERP, or Operations platforms
Exposure to Data Center infrastructure systems or hardware operations ecosystems
Experience with telemetry systems, observability platforms, or infrastructure analytics
Exposure to AI/ML workflows, operational intelligence, or intelligent automation systems
Experience with technologies such as Kafka, Spark, Airflow, Pub/Sub, or streaming platforms
Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-native architecture
Understanding of distributed systems and high-availability platform design
Exposure to Google Cloud Platform (GCP) engineering ecosystems
Experience supporting enterprise-scale operational systems and infrastructure platforms
