Python DevOps Engineer

Role Description

Key Responsibilities

Develop and enhance scalable Python-based automation components and backend tooling.
Refactor and optimize existing automation frameworks for reliability, maintainability, and performance.
Implement robust error handling and logging across Python and PowerShell scripting environments.
Design and automate Python packaging workflows using PyPI and Conda standards.
Ensure secure artifact generation, signing, traceability, and compliance for distributed Python packages.
Develop and maintain advanced PowerShell scripts, including automated unit testing using Pester.
Collaborate with Development, DevOps, and CI/CD teams to automate secure artifact publishing pipelines.
Implement and manage Software Bill of Materials (SBOM) generation and dependency governance processes.
Integrate security scanning tools such as SCA, CVE monitoring, secret scanning, and policy enforcement within CI/CD pipelines.
Perform security-focused code reviews and promote secure coding best practices.
Maintain technical documentation and provide troubleshooting support for packaging, dependency, and deployment workflows.
Contribute effectively to sprint planning, execution, and delivery of traceable engineering tasks aligned with team objectives.

Required Skills & Experience

4–8 years of experience in Python Development and DevOps Engineering.
Strong hands-on experience with Python scripting and automation.
Experience with Python packaging ecosystems such as PyPI and Conda.
Strong PowerShell scripting expertise, including Pester-based testing.
Experience working with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
Knowledge of secure software supply chain practices including SBOM management, SCA, CVE monitoring, and secret scanning.
Familiarity with artifact repositories and package publishing workflows.
Understanding of DevSecOps and secure build automation practices.
Experience working in enterprise or regulated environments is preferred.
