Job Description: Job Title: Scrum master/Project Manager, Banking Domain Corporate Title: AVP Location: Bangalore, India Role Description We are seeking a hybrid Scrum Master / Project Manager with deep expertise in the banking domain. You will drive agile delivery while managing traditional project constraints. Lead Agile teams as a servant‑leader and Agile coach, guiding them on Agile principles and best practices. Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Cross Tribes and Technical Leads to ensure clear understanding and prioritization of the product backlog. Collaborate with Project Managers/Leads and DevOps and Release Management teams to create, track, and manage fix versions, project timelines Identify and remove impediments that hinder the team’s progress Cross-functional alignment: Act as the primary bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams. Track and report key Agile metrics (e.g., velocity, burndown charts) to stakeholders. Foster a culture of transparency, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Ensure the team adheres to Agile values and principles and follows agreed‑upon processes. Support the team in achieving high levels of performance and quality. Coordinate with other Scrum Masters and Agile Coaches across department to align on cross‑team dependencies and Agile maturity. Conduct periodic sync meetings with Scrum Masters and stakeholders across tribes. Produce sprint and release progress/status reports as required for senior stakeholders, project working groups, and steering committees. Share responsibility for the quality of work delivered by the team; hold yourself and the team accountable Manage delivery: Track project timelines, budgets, resource allocation, and risk mitigation Shield the team from external interference that may reduce focus. Monitor Waste, maintain risk and issue logs, and work with the Product Owner to feed new stories arising from risks or issues into the product backlog Regulatory compliance: Ensure all deliverables meet strict financial regulations and security standards, including internal audit and Penetration testing observations. Domain alignment: Apply knowledge of core banking systems, payments, or digital banking to project scope Your skills and experience At least 8 years of proven experience as a Scrum Master in a complex, regulated environment (preferably in financial services). Expert‑level experience using JIRA, including creating dashboards, structures, and detailed reports. Strong hands‑on experience with Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban) and Agile delivery tools including JIRA, Confluence, and others. Excellent facilitation, coaching, and conflict‑resolution skills. Strong communication and stakeholder‑management abilities. Experience working with cross‑functional teams, including data analysts, engineers, and compliance experts. Certifications: CSM (Certified ScrumMaster) or PMP (Project Management Professional) is highly preferred. Frameworks: Deep understanding of Scrum, Kanban, and traditional Waterfall methodologies Communication: Strong negotiation skills to manage diverse stakeholder expectations in high-pressure financial environments.
