Senior Android Engineer

Ciklum is looking for a Senior Android Engineer to join our team full-time in
India.

About the role:

As a Senior Android Engineer, become a part of a cross-functional development
team engineering experiences of tomorrow. 

Responsibilities: 

* Architecture & Design: Design and implement robust, testable, and
maintainable Android applications using Clean Architecture patterns
(MVVM/MVI)
* Feature Development: Build modern, responsive, and pixel-perfect UIs from
scratch using Jetpack Compose 
* IoT Integration (Added Advantage): Develop and optimize wireless
communication protocols, specifically interfacing with hardware devices via
Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and Classic Bluetooth 
* Code Quality: Write clean, well-documented, and efficient Kotlin code.
Conduct thorough code reviews and mentor junior/mid-level engineers
* Performance Optimization: Identify and fix bottlenecks, profile memory usage,
and optimize application performance and battery consumption (critical for
IoT/BLE apps)
* CI/CD & Deployment: Maintain and improve the automation pipeline for
building, testing, and releasing applications to the Google Play Store
* Collaboration: Work closely with Product Managers, UI/UX designers, and
embedded hardware teams to define product requirements and technical
specifications

Requirements:

* Experience: 6–9 years of professional Android application development
experience
* Language Proficiency: Deep, idiomatic knowledge of Kotlin (including
Coroutines and Flow for asynchronous programming)
* Modern UI Toolkit: Minimum 2+ years of hands-on experience building
production-ready apps using Jetpack Compose
* Architectural Expertise: Strong understanding of Clean Architecture,
Dependency Injection (Hilt/Dagger), and repository patterns
* Local Storage & Networking: Proficiency with Room Database, DataStore, and
Retrofit/Ktor 
* Testing: Strong experience with unit testing (JUnit, Mockk) and UI testing
