Overall Purpose of The Job
To maintain accurate financial records for each of the vessels under his/her responsibility and to produce timely, accurate and meaningful management reports for in-house departments and for the vessel owners.
Key Responsibilities And Tasks
Review general ledger for the set of Vessels (approx. 25-30) being managed by Fleet Accountants
To verify first level payment authorization for vessel accounts
Perform quality checks to ensure financial data is properly authorised and coded by the relevant departments
Perform quality check on all funding requests. Ensure sufficient funding of the vessel at all times to enable all commitments are settled within timelines
Payment of purchase invoices, payroll and other creditors within the agreed payment terms and in line with V.Group policy
Ensure all reports and requests are prepared for the client within the prescribed timetable
Liaising with Vessel Financial Controller and other departments in order to provide explanation for Budget variances
Supporting the Vessel Financial Controller with any other duties that may arise
Provide trainings to New Hires
Support TL’s in performing administrative tasks and reviewing the Financial Statements – Operating Cost, Balance Sheet, Funding requests, Cash Flow – Daily, weekly etc
Share best practices with other team members
Work on Process Improvement projects

Essential
Full Time Graduation in Commerce
Minimum 5 years experience in Vessel Accounting
Good Knowledge of MS office specially Excel Skills
Excellent accounting knowledge
Good English communications skills written and verbal.
Good interpersonal /business skills
Ability to work on own initiative in a Team environment
Good organizational & time management skills
Analytical approach / good problem solving skills
Good reporting skills
Competent in Microsoft Office, advanced Excel skills (vlookup, pivot table etc.)
