employees in 35 countries. Some 20,000 financial services and healthcare
organizations, from the world's largest companies to small and mid-market firms,

Engineer, Microsoft 365 Engineer Role Overview SS&C Technologies is building out
its Managed IT Services capability and is looking for a Senior Engineer to
anchor our Microsoft 365 Managed Services practice in India. Working closely
with a US-based technical lead during the initial build-out phase, you will
establish the standards, runbooks, and operational frameworks that underpin our
M365 managed services across a growing portfolio of financial services clients.
Once established, you will own the day-to-day technical delivery of M365 Tenant
Management services across client environments, serving as the primary technical
point of contact for client IT teams and contributing to governance reporting
and service reviews. This role suits an experienced Microsoft 365 engineer who
thrives in an environment where they can both build and operate, someone
comfortable with ambiguity and capable of working autonomously. Key
Responsibilities Service Build and Standardization Develop and maintain M365
tenant management runbooks, standard operating procedures, and technical
standards aligned to SS&C’s managed services framework. Define repeatable
delivery processes for onboarding new client M365 tenants, including baseline
assessments, policy configuration, and governance setup. Build and maintain a
knowledge base that supports async collaboration across geographically
distributed teams. Contribute to the continuous improvement of SS&C’s M365
managed services capability as the client portfolio grows. Technical Delivery
Manage and maintain client Microsoft 365 tenants across the full productivity
stack including Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online, and
OneDrive for Business. Administer and govern Microsoft Intune environments
including device compliance policies, Conditional Access integration, and
endpoint configuration profiles. Own identity governance from a productivity and
compliance perspective — managing user lifecycle, license assignment, MFA
enforcement, and application access via Entra ID. Implement, maintain, and
continuously improve Microsoft Purview configurations including DLP policies,
sensitivity labels, information protection, retention policies, and compliance
posture reporting. Manage Teams governance including policy configuration,
lifecycle and naming policies, guest access controls, and meeting experience
settings. Administer SharePoint Online site lifecycle, sharing and access
management, and compliance configuration in line with client governance
requirements. Manage and maintain third-party M365 backup solutions (such as
AvePoint, Veeam, or equivalent platforms) covering Exchange, SharePoint, and
Teams workloads; validate backup coverage and support restore operations as
required. Administer Microsoft 365 licensing in a CSP/reseller model, including
license assignment, subscription management, and tenant-level license governance
across client environments. Produce monthly KPI reports and quarterly
configuration review reports for client stakeholders, translating technical
findings into clear governance summaries. Client Engagement Serve as the primary
technical point of contact for client IT teams, owning the technical
relationship day-to-day. Participate in client governance reviews and service
meetings, translating technical findings into clear, accessible reporting.
Communicate proactively on incidents, changes, and emerging risks, maintaining a
high standard of client-facing professionalism. Required Skills & Experience
7–10 years of experience in Microsoft 365 administration and engineering, with a
strong preference for candidates from an MSP or managed services background.
Deep hands-on experience across the core M365 stack: Exchange Online, Microsoft
Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, and Microsoft Intune. Strong
working knowledge of Microsoft Purview — including DLP, sensitivity labels,
information protection policies, retention and deletion settings, and compliance
management. Solid understanding of Entra ID identity governance in the context
of M365 — user lifecycle management, MFA, Conditional Access, license
assignment, and application access provisioning. Experience managing Microsoft
365 licensing in a CSP or reseller model, including tenant-level subscription
governance and license optimization. Experience managing third-party M365 backup
platforms (AvePoint, Veeam, or equivalent) across Exchange, SharePoint, and
Teams workloads. Proven ability to produce and maintain technical documentation,
runbooks, and governance reports to a professional standard. Experience working
directly with client technical teams in a managed services or outsourced
delivery context. Strong written and verbal communication skills in English,
with the ability to present technical concepts clearly to non-technical
stakeholders. Comfortable working autonomously with limited day-to-day
oversight; strong judgment on escalation and prioritization. Preferred / Nice to
Have Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate (MD-102).
Microsoft Certified: Microsoft 365 Administrator Expert (MS-102). Microsoft
Certified: Information Protection and Compliance Administrator Associate
(SC-400) — particularly relevant given the Purview requirement. Experience
working across multiple client M365 tenants simultaneously. Exposure to
financial services or regulated industry environments. Familiarity with ITIL or
similar service management frameworks. Working Arrangements This role is based
in India and operates primarily during UK business hours. Flexibility to cover a
mixture of UK and US business hours will be required during the initial
onboarding phase. Unless explicitly requested or approached by SS&C
