like the App Store, Apple TV, Apple Music, Apple Podcasts, and Apple Books,
delivering content at scale across 150+ countries. ASE engineers build secure,
end-to-end systems, including software, tools, server infrastructure, and APIs
that support Apple services. The ADP Processing SRE team supports analytics and
data services, focusing on reliability, automation, and continuous improvement

DESCRIPTION

The Service Reliability Engineer (SRE) role in Apple Services Engineering
requires a mix of strategic engineering and design along with hands-on,
technical work. This SRE will configure, tune, and fix multi-tiered systems to
achieve optimal application performance, stability and availability. We manage
jobs as well as applications on bare-metal and cloud computing platforms to
deliver data processing for many of Apple’s global products. Our teams work with
exabytes of data, petabytes of memory, and tens of thousands of jobs to enable
predicable and performant data analytics enabling features in Apple Music, TV+,
Appstore and other world class products. If you love designing, running systems

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

0-18 months of experience in a Site Reliability Engineering role. Understanding
of SRE principles and goals. Good programming skills in any high level languages
like Python, Go, Java. Familiarity with Linux environments (process management,
file systems, troubleshooting) and networking fundamentals (HTTP/HTTPS, DNS,
TCP/IP). Ability to analyze issues, identify root causes, and propose solutions.
Effective communication skills and the ability to complete tasks with attention
especially during incidents.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field. Exposure
to cloud platforms like Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, or Microsoft
Azure. Basic understanding or academic/project exposure to big data technologies
such as Apache Hadoop, Apache Spark, or Apache Flink. Strong analytical and
problem-solving skills, with the ability to learn new technologies quickly.
Exposure to collaborative development (e.g., team projects, internships, or
open-source contributions), including working with distributed teams.
Familiarity with production support processes, incident management, and system
reliability. Basic understanding of CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows.
Familiarity with containerization tools like Docker and to orchestration systems
such as Kubernetes. Awareness of monitoring and observability tools like
Prometheus and Grafana.
