Specialist Engineer – PWTI and Penta
Job Description
The Specialist Engineer – PWTI and Penta will contribute in the area of Engine Peripherals like Coolant system, Fuel system, structure design, Noise isolation, Air intake, Exhaust system, Flywheels, Flywheels housing etc. for various Penta projects.
Core Responsibilities:
Design and development of Engine peripheral components like coolant system, Fuel system, Air intake, Exhaust system and Packaging for various Penta projects.
Drive start-cost projects, including cost-reduction initiatives and risk resourcing programs, to meet project and business targets
Support and set the performance targets at individual component level to various components developed by component owners
Work cross-functionally with simulation, testing and structural teams to analyze, validate and verify cooling/heating system and component structural performance using virtual simulations and engine testing
Work closely with partners & suppliers for development of components.
Lead and own the System FMEA for peripheral components and guide the DFMEAs by component owners and engineers
Take full engineering responsibility, independently deliver the tasks in area as well as guide our junior team members within group
Initiate and lead Advanced Engineering work in area of responsibility
Detailed development of concepts and reviewing with cross-functional team
Participate in development projects reaching targets in terms of QDCF
Product release for Concept, Development, and Industrialization
Addressing technical issues in coordination with the supplier and cross-functional team
Define the verification and validation needs and ensure design fulfils the business targets/ requirements
In your work, there will be frequent topics to manage with Global XFs and Suppliers around the world. Hence it is required to establish right participation & contribution to Advance Engineering, roadmaps and knowledge management as well.
Required Competencies:
ME/MTech/BE/BTech in Mechanical/ Automobile Engineering or similar with more than 15 years of experience
In depth knowledge of the product development life cycle (Start to End) and change management activities for maintenance are required for this role
Developing robust time plans and roadmaps for the system according to project milestones and validating the design through virtual and physical verifications
Solid Hands-on experience in Developing and testing Engine peripheral components and solutions
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cooling/ heating system performance and efficiency
Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to the engine system.
Structured way of working and ability to deliver on complex tasks with excellence.
Working Knowledge of Global standards for different markets is a plus
Good team player, self-driven with positive, global and problem-solving mind-set and you possess excellent communication skills.
Innovative and creative mindset to provide engineering solutions and concepts
Should be good in compiling and presenting information verbally and in writing
Willingness to learn and develop your own skills and abilities.
Ability to work in a multicultural global environment
Hands on work experience in similar automotive, truck or Engine manufactures- preferably from any OEMs or Tier 1 companies
Experience in heavy commercial vehicle industry will be an added advantage
